Do you remember the 1st Supply Chain Risk Management Seminar Barcelona 2009? I made a post about it a year ago. The sequel is scheduled to take place this year, on April 14th and 15th, as before, in Barcelona, Spain. This seminar provides a unique opportunity to discuss the most pressing issues today through a series of case studies, informative presentations, workshops and interactive panel discussions and is maybe the place for professionals in supply chain risk to meet and share experiences with other experts. This year’s programme looks even better than last year.

For several years, when it comes to ICT-driven innovation and production, the MITIP conferences have proven to be an important forum for researchers from academia and industry to present the results of their work, and to inspire a creative dialogue between the industry and the academic world. Having presented MITIP 2009 on this blog previously, time has now come for MITIP 2010, and this time the conference is much closer to home (for me), at Aalborg University in Aalborg, Denmark, 30-31 August 2010. And being on the scientific committee for this conference it is my pleasure to circulate this call for papers within my network, and what better way is there than to do it on my blog?

What is at the forefront of current research in supply chain management and logistics right now? I know, thanks to to Gyöngi Kovács at interorganisational.org, who attended the NOFOMA 2009 conference a couple of days ago. At the conference, Emerald, one of the world’s leading publishers of management journals, presented some statistics on which articles that were most downloaded from their online journals during the first quarter of 2009.

Slightly outside the scope of this blog, which deals more with the management side of supply chain risk, and less with the technical or operational side of supply chain mangement, today I’d like to promote the International Workshop on Secure Supply Chain Collaboration, June 2, Barcelona, Spain. This SecureSCM workshop is open to all those interested in finding solutions to the challenges of data sharing and collaborative supply chain management across supply chain players.

The factory of the future is calling for a shift in strategic vision. Already, many operations are evolving towards collaborative, value-adding networks, where complex service-oriented relationships are created and managed. Where do we go from here and what does the future hold? If you know (or want to know), then you should participate to the 11th International Conference on the Modern Information Technology in the Innovation Processes of the Industrial Enterprises (MITIP2009) to be held on October 15-16, 2009 in Bergamo, Italy.

The phrase “Supply chains compete, not companies” was coined by Martin Christopher, and it is a fitting reminder for the theme of the CSCMP Europe 2009 Conference: “Overcome Barriers That Face Your Supply Chain and Turn Them into Competitive Advantages”. In the current financial downturn what should be – or what will be – on the mind of supply chain and logistics executives in the months and years ahead? The SCLEurope 2009 is a great place to find out about just that.

The purpose of the Modern Information Technology in the Innovation Processes of the Industrial Enterprises conference is to serve as a forum for the dissemination of ideas, knowledge and experiences about the ICT-driven innovation in industrial products, processes and services. The conference is targeted to scholars and practitioners involved in research activities focusing on the role of ICT in modern industrial enterprises, and it particularly focuses on the exchange of ideas between Eastern and Western Europe. Having recently been asked by Roberto Pinto, who also runs riskcentral.org, to join the scientific committee for the conference, I feel obliged to advertise this conference. This year’s conference is the 11th conference and runs from 15 to 16 October 2009 in Bergamo, Italy.
