I’ve just vaguely started to think about how supply chain risks can be expressed as “constraints”, let alone be articulated using the TOC lingo, if it is at all possible.
I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks for the comment, Mike.

I’ve just vaguely started to think about how supply chain risks can be expressed as “constraints”, let alone be articulated using the TOC lingo, if it is at all possible.

I’ll keep you posted.

By: Mike

<guid

The emphasis in all the Goldratt books I've read so far has been the processes within a single manufacturing company. I'd never considered whether the Theory of Constraints might apply to a more extended (and less controllable) supply chain process until you mentioned it. Damn. More thinking to do.
Look forward to reading your future thoughts on the area.

Goldratt’s “The Goal” is well worth reading first – the novelization approach works surprisingly well for introducing the theory.

The emphasis in all the Goldratt books I’ve read so far has been the processes within a single manufacturing company.
